Farewell and thank you, Plone

I finally made the difficult decision of moving away from Plone+Zope stack.

I've been a happy user/admin of it for almost 9 years now but I feel that I'm not able to take advantage of its offerings anymore.

On the one hand, how I'm employing it has changed; whereas until a few years ago I used to host a dozen websites/portals on the very same stack -I closed that line of business a couple of years ago,- now it's only serving my own website and that of a small community of programming languages enthusiasts. A task which any simple blogging engine could do.

On the other hand, even though Plone+Zope is a rock-solid stack, which requires quite minimal maintenance, my growing set of responsibilities in personal life and new priorities leaves no time for maintaining a couple of publicly available websites - those who have done so know how grave the job is.
And the last downtime was hardware-related!

Given the above, I decided to retire my last loyal Plone+Zope server. Adieu.

    Might as well change the domain to bahmanm.dev, will make you sound a bit less enterprisey ;)

      :-) The domain dates back to the days when .com was very fashionable and there was no ".dev" or similar options.

Firefox profiles: Quickly replicate your settings to any machine

Have you ever been in a situation where you'd needed to work on different/new machines on a daily basis and wished there was a way to have all your essential Firefox configurations/addons/bookmarks on those machines without connecting your precious Firefix Sync account with all those stored passwords and credit cards? Well, I was there a few years ago and I found Firefox profiles to be an easy and clean way of achieving what I needed. The gist of the idea is that, you create and configure a "perfect" profile and make a copy of it on a flash drive (or Google Drive?).  Then copy that profile settings to new machines and, well, benefit!
